Paris to Marseille by Train: Stations, Tickets and Arrival

Daytime central-station example: Paris Gare de Lyon to Marseille Saint-Charles. Other products may use different Paris-area departures or Marseille stations. Check the complete itinerary for your date; this is not a map of every service or a promise of a non-stop train. SNCF Connect

The Paris to Marseille train links the capital with a practical gateway to Provence and the Mediterranean. Start with Paris Gare de Lyon and Marseille Saint-Charles, then compare the exact stations, stops and fare conditions of the departures offered for your date.

Choose the full station names

Paris Gare de Lyon is in Paris; it is not a station in the city of Lyon. Marseille Saint-Charles is the main central railway arrival to investigate. An offer from another Paris-area station may suit your plans, but add the local journey to that station before comparing it with a central departure.

Compare direct trains and total journey time

A direct itinerary avoids a change of train, although it can still call at intermediate stations. Compare TGV INOUI and OUIGO departures where offered. Read the duration for the selected date rather than treating the fastest advertised journey as a promise for every train. Include the trip to your Paris station and from Saint-Charles to your accommodation.

Compare the complete ticket price

Enter every passenger and any valid discount card. Compare the same date and travel party across services, then add required luggage or seat options. The lowest displayed fare can have different exchange conditions from a more flexible ticket. Check whether you are comparing a one-way fare per person or a total for the group.

Arrive at Marseille Saint-Charles

Plan the last part of the trip separately. The Vieux-Port, cruise terminals and Marseille Provence Airport are distinct destinations; a ticket to Saint-Charles does not automatically include those transfers. If you need step-free access, check the station map and assistance arrangements instead of relying on the monumental outdoor staircase.

Continue into Provence

For Avignon, distinguish Avignon TGV from Avignon Centre. For Aix-en-Provence, distinguish the TGV station from the town station. A journey labelled with the same city name can end well outside your intended neighbourhood. Check the onward leg and the last usable connection before choosing a late arrival.
